Dose-efficient multimodal microscopy of human tissue at a hard X-ray nanoprobe beamline

The Journal of Synchrotron Radiation has published an article by Sala et Al about a multimodal microscopy approach which was demonstrated on human sural nerve tissue.

Silson’s Si3N4 membranes were used for the sample preparation, the article reads: “The sections were deposited onto 1 mm 1 mm, 200 nm-thin Si3N4 membranes (Silson, UK), transparent to hard X-rays”

The method implemented used “low-dose in-line holography to produce quantitative electron density maps at the mesoscale prior to nanoscale X-ray fluorescence acquisition”
