Highly confined incident-angle-robust surface phonon polariton bound states in the continuum metasurfaces

arXiv has published a paper by Nan et Al about research of photonic technologies. The experimental results introduce “phononic qBICs as a novel ultra-confined nanophotonic platform, paving a way for the miniaturization of mid-infrared devices for molecular sensing and thermal radiation engineering.”

Silson’s 100 nm thick silicon carbide membranes were used for the top-down nanofabrication method and the samples were studied using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy.
