Functional Analysis of Iron Storage and Transport in the Green Alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

A dissertation written by Colleen Hui at the University of California in 2021 discusses Iron homeostasis in a unicellular green algae called Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The research highlights the importance of understanding Iron homeostasis in plant lineage to ‘improve global
primary productivity in agriculture and carbon capture capabilities’.

X-ray fluorescence microscopy experiments were performed and Silson’s silicon nitride membranes were used.
