Soft X-Ray Scanning Transmission Microscopy as a Selective Probe of Topical Dermal Drug Delivery: The Role of Petrolatum and Occlusion

The Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena has published an article by Germer et Al which describes the probing of drugs using scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM) along with “hyperspectral imaging to probe topically applied drugs in human skin explants ex vivo”.

Silson’s 100 nm thick silicon nitride membranes were used for the STXM experiments, which were conducted on beamline BL4U at the UVSOR-IIII Synchrotron (Institute for Molecular Science, Okazaki, Japan)
